I have been doing some serious painting over the last couple of months. Back in July, I participated in the Black Arts Festival, here in Denver, where I started talking to my friend Judith Weaver. She told me that she has been curating the art at Coffee On The Point for the last few years and that she would love to have my work hanging there. We set a tentative time in April (still waiting on confirmation for the actual date) for me to hang a new show. Since this timing will also coincide with the Five Points Jazz Festival, I am creating a whole new body of work that is focused on musicians. Now, there is a bias toward singers, as I tend to focus more on lyrical music, but I will do my best to make sure that there is a fair number of instrumentalists as well, not to mention a dancer or two.
Here are some of the pieces I have completed so far.
There are a few more, but I am waiting to get them photographed professionally. Each one of these pieces is available as a fine art print.
