Hedy Lamarr – Mixed Media Painting

Hedy Lamarr was an Austrian-born movie star in the 1930s-50s. Touted as the most beautiful woman in the world, she often did not have speaking roles in the films she headlined. When World War II started and she realized that her home country was in jeopardy, Lamarr put her mind to work on helping the Allied forces. In 1942 she developed a technology that would prevent Allied torpedoes from being jammed, as that was a major problem during the war. That technology went on to become the basis for the WiFi, Bluetooth and cell phone technology that we use today.
